Brief Bio
Christina Aguilera’s work has earned her numerous awards, including four Grammy Awards and a Latin Grammy Award. Rolling Stone ranked her number fifty-three on their list of the 100 Greatest Singers of All Time, ranking as the youngest and only artist on the list under the age of thirty. Aguilera has already sold more than 43 million albums worldwide. Over the last decade she has gained a reputation for pushing the boundaries of pop music.

Christina Aguilera was born on December 18, 1980, in Staten Island, New York. In 1990, at age 9, she appeared on national television in Star Search singing “A Sunday Kind of Love”. Growing up in Pittsburgh, Aguilera sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” before Pittsburgh Penguins hockey, Pittsburgh Steelers football and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball games, including during the 1992 Stanley Cup Finals. From 1993 to 1994 she was a cast member of the Disney Channel’s television series The New Mickey Mouse Club. She signed to RCA Records after recording “Reflection” in 1998 for the soundtrack of the Disney film Mulan. She later released her debut album, Christina Aguilera, from which the single “Genie In A Bottle” became the biggest selling U.S. single of the year.

In 1999 Aguilera won a Grammy for Best New Artist. In 2000 her singles “What A Girl Wants” and “Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)” went to the top of the charts. In 2002 she caused some controversy with a sexy photo and music video associated with her second studio album “Stripped” and the single “Dirrty”. In 2006 Aguilera released her third studio album “Back to Basics”.
